More about Ben Alder:
Ben Alder was born and raised in St. George, Utah. He took piano lessons from Jaime Stucki at age 8 until moving on to the organ at age 14 with Kathleen Briggs as his teacher. He now takes organ lessons with acclaimed keyboardist (organ, piano, etc.) in Washington County, Geoff Myers. He has played in LDS Tabernacles in St. George, Utah, Paris, Idaho, Brigham City, Utah and Logan, Utah and even was invited to play the 5 manual (keyboards) Salt Lake Tabernacle organ hosted by now deceased tabernacle organist, Robert Cundick. He loves composing, improvising and arranging hymns and songs.
Song background:

The national anthem of the United Kingdom is “God Save the King”. (Also known as “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” as a U. S. patriotic song.) Many U. S. citizens thought the medley was American. This NOT TRUE. The truths about it is that the U. S. borrowed the melody from the U. K. The U. K. national anthem was first used in King George Il on his birthday. The first phrase became “God save great George our King” but later change to “God save our gracious King”. No one knows who compose melody other than it was from a collection of “Thesaurus Musicus” in London in 1744.

An arrangement of the United Kingdom’s national anthem has been performed at Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation in 1953 by Gordon Jacob. I have arranged and transcribed the arrangement that is for trumpet fanfares, organ, choir, orchestra, and congregation/audience for organ solo. I tried as close as possible to make sound like from the original arrangement of Gordon Jacobs’s.

I have also posted a YouTube video of that original arrangement of Gordon Jacob that is posted by the Duke of Canada on YouTube. The recording was performed by the British people in the UK at the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on September 19, 2022 as the “new anthem”.

Registration of the organ needs to be balanced between 2 or more manuals (keyboards) to make sure you are not playing 1 manual (keyboard) for example on measures 18 and 32. So make sure they are balanced.

Enjoy my arranged and transcribed organ solo version of Gordon Jacob’s arrangement of the Uk national anthem, “God Save the King”.
