Song background:

I wrote this song a few years before I underwent five surgeries to repair complications from surgery that resulted in back-to-back retinal detachments. During the long recovery I found that focussing on points of light helped me to heal by influencing my mood, health, and spiritual growth. The surgeries changed my depth perception and focus and left me legally blind in one eye, but I was thankful to have the eyesight that remained. I spent many months adapting and relearning my keyboard skills. It was sometimes discouraging, but it always helped to fix my focus on the light at the end of the tunnel.
