Song background:

A one-of-a-kind song with unique and beautiful music, a profoundly soul-stirring prayer for all things on earth, that moves you from reverent and holy feelings to heartrending exhilaration. The words and music came to me during the eight-year drought in the western states, when we fasted and prayed for relief. Not for beginners, but okay for intermediate to advanced.

Lyrics: FATHER ABOVE
First verse:
Father above, thank thee for rain in the desert so dry, rain in the sky.
Thank thee for snow that fills up the streams and the rivers that flow, wherever they go.
Father above, thank thee for rainbows and clouds in the sky and creatures that fly,
And for sunrise and sun setting over the sea; glowing with light that reaches to me.
All of the birds, each flower and tree depend on the life-giving water from thee.

Second Verse:
Father above, thank thee for truth falling gently as rain, simple and plain.
Thank thee for light that eases our spirits and shines in the night, revealing the right.
Father above, thank thee for giving us faith to believe and knowledge to weave
Into minds that are searching for truths they can know, spirits that come to learn and to grow.
All life on earth, all spirits in sight need spiritual water and spiritual light.

CHORUS:
Father above, help us to see, open our eyes so we see.
Father above, help us to see all the ways we can change, and rearrange.
Only the Savior can help us to be free from the sins that keep us from thee.
