Ben Alder was born and raised in St. George, Utah. He took piano lessons from Jaime Stucki at age 8 until moving on to the organ at age 14 with Kathleen Briggs as his teacher. He now takes organ lessons with acclaimed keyboardist (organ, piano, etc.) in Washington County, Geoff Myers. He has played in LDS Tabernacles in St. George, Utah, Paris, Idaho, Brigham City, Utah and Logan, Utah and even was invited to play the 5 manual (keyboards) Salt Lake Tabernacle organ hosted by now deceased tabernacle organist, Robert Cundick. He loves composing, improvising and arranging hymns and songs.
This is not my own orginal piece but a transcription arrange from the orgnial.
Joseph J. Daynes was appointed as the 1st Tabernacle Organist in 1863. On September 2nd, 1877, 2nd leader of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints died and his funeral, on August 29th of that same year, Josheph compose a piece for him on the the Salt Lake tabernacle organ which had only 2 manuals (Keyboards) at that time. It was then when that piece was arranged and composed as a piano solo. On January 5th 2022, Emertis Tabernacle Organist, played his interpretatin of Joseph's piece on the Tabernacle Choir's Youtube channel's "Piping up" show. I Transcribed it as close as possible on what John was playing.
VIDEO: In the video I played his piece. **Note; I messed up on the middle section giving an extra note and rthyme of the piece. so the extra note and rythme is not in the organ solo score of my transcription arrangement score.
