Ben Alder was born and raised in St. George, Utah. He took piano lessons from Jaime Stucki at age 8 until moving on to the organ at age 14 with Kathleen Briggs as his teacher. He now takes organ lessons with acclaimed keyboardist (organ, piano, etc.) in Washington County, Geoff Myers. He has played in LDS Tabernacles in St. George, Utah, Paris, Idaho, Brigham City, Utah and Logan, Utah and even was invited to play the 5 manual (keyboards) Salt Lake Tabernacle organ hosted by now deceased tabernacle organist, Robert Cundick. He loves composing, improvising and arranging hymns and songs.
I felt inspired to write an arrangement of the hymn, “Beautiful Savior” (also known as “Fairest Lord Jesus”). This hymn/children’s song has been on mind lately of how I want to arrange it as a SATB Choir Arrangement using both the hymn in the German LDS hymnbook and the LDS children’s songbook.
On measure 46-54 I have written a new tune to try make it more heavenly and powerful.
I also got this arrangement in Spanish and German in separate tabs/links. So make sure you go to those tabs/links. This is probably the first work of mine to ever do different languages. So please bear with me. I’m also thinking about doing more languages. But for now, English, Spanish and German are up right now.
