Song background:

This piece features a string quartet playing once through using the hymnbook. The 2nd time through, the choir is added to the strings. The 3rd time through, the organ joins in. The 4th time through, the congregation joins in while the strings play a counter melody. There is also a lovely soprano obbligato on the last two choruses. This all makes for a majestic number which is easily put together as all of the parts come from the hymnbook (except for the last verse strings and the obbligato. Other available instruments can be used.
