Lyrics by Beatrice Jackson. This was written for children, to instill the principle that our Sabbath Day observance, by keeping it holy, shows our love for God. The bright tune is intended to convey that the Sabbath is a cheerful day which can be a delight.
The two parallel verses tell about God and the Sabbath (verse 1), followed by us and the Sabbath (verse 2).
